According to relative Polina Lipenko, her father-in-law Sergey Lyalin worked on the railway for 27 years. Three underage children are registered in the house: two of her own and the daughter of her ex-husband«s brother, who died a year and a half ago. A court order requires the family to vacate the premises by February 10. Russian Railways (RZhD) found the building unfit for living after an inspection, citing undrinkable water, lack of ventilation, and other violations.
The court decision text provided by Lipenko states that the house, where the Lyalins have lived for almost three decades, is legally classified not as a residential premises but as workshops. The property is on the balance sheet of Russian Railways (RZhD).
As Polina Lipenko claims, Sergey Lyalin and his wife have no alternative housing. They received the house back in 1993. In three days, the court decision will come into force, and after February 20 the family could end up on the street.
The situation revolves around a house at 32a Voinskaya Ploshchadka Street. Previously, another family — the Sobolev pensioners — had been tried to be evicted from the same building, and they even appealed to the governor for help. Then, the press service of the Sverdlovsk Railway said the building is located in a transport security zone and is non-residential, which is why the Tyumen administration refused to accept it into municipal ownership. The department stated that work is being organized to free up non-residential premises.
A request for the current situation has been sent to the press service of Russian Railways (RZhD), but no response has been received yet.
