New Shows of 'The Dawns Here Are Quiet' in Chita

New performances of the musical drama «The Dawns Here Are Quiet» will be presented on the stage of the Zabaikalsky Uzory Theater, created in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II.

This production is not another war chronicle, but a drama about choice, courage, and love in its purest and most sacrificial form. The play depicts five fearless young women anti-aircraft gunners under the command of Sergeant Major Vaskov, who venture into the northern forest to stop a group of German saboteurs. Ahead of them lies not just a mission, but a confrontation with the unprepared. They will face a battle on the verge of impossibility, where the fragility of the female soul meets the cruelty of war.

«We want the audience not only to remember the legendary story once again, but to experience it anew through the live breath of theater, music, and dance. The musical drama »The Dawns Here Are Quiet« is a production that unites history, art, and live human feeling. This play is not only about war. It is about peace that is too precious to lose again,» says director-producer Boris Malevsky.

For the play, decorations of northern nature, swamps, and rocks have been created, complemented by a musical score with folk motifs and choreography.

«It has been a great honor for us to address this story. We understand the responsibility to the audience and to the memory of those who fought for the Motherland. This play is our contribution to preserving historical memory, so that the feat remains alive in the hearts of new generations,» adds the director of the Zabaikalsky Uzory Theater, Galina Syrovatka.

The play will be held on February 21 and 22, as well as April 18 and 19. Tickets can be purchased, including with the «Pushkin Card» (a Russian cultural subsidy program).
