Missing 12-year-old girl found in Volgograd during freeze

The search for a 12-year-old girl missing in the cold in Volgograd has been called off. Police found the schoolgirl on the evening of January 25 in a residential complex adjacent to the «Coliseum» in the Kiovsky district.
The girl disappeared around 11 a.m. while taking out the trash. She did not return home. Police, volunteers, and concerned residents aided in the search, combing the complex.
«My daughter left at 11:00 to throw out the trash. She»s never had a problem before when she«s left. It»s a there-and-back trip. The garbage area is right nearby, a minute«s walk from the house. Thirty minutes passed, and she wasn»t back. We rushed to look for her,« the girl»s mother told V1.RU. «Dad went to look for her by car, I started searching the stairwell. We noticed she hadn»t taken the house keys. We drove around the entire «Coliseum» residential complex, she wasn«t there. Our child has a disability, she might have decided to go to school. She knows which bus to take, how to get there. Dad went to the Krasnoarmeysky district, went all the way to the school, she wasn»t anywhere.«
At around eight in the evening, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for Volgograd Region reported the girl was found alive in a residential complex next to the «Coliseum». Juvenile affairs (PDN) officers and medics are currently working with her.
«Juvenile division (PDN) inspectors and medical personnel are currently speaking with the child. It has been preliminarily established that no unlawful acts were committed against her. Based on the results of the inspection, response measures will be taken in accordance with the law,» the department clarified.
