Instasamka Details Being Deceived at Career Start

The scandalously famous singer Instasamka (real name Darya Zoteeva) revealed how she was deceived and literally forced to work for pennies at the very start of her career. Darya Zoteeva published entries from her personal diary that she kept during that difficult time for her.

In her entries, the girl recalled 2019. At that time, her manager suggested recording tracks. Darya, who was still a blogger, agreed. They found a songwriter — a young girl who wrote many songs for Instasamka, but as it turned out later, the rights to them were sold to another company. No one knew about this until Darya was preparing for her first tour.

«We didn’t have the opportunity to earn much. I took any offers that came. They offered us to do a tour with new material that we had just written. The results were very good — these tracks didn’t make it to the charts, but for a blogger with an audience of 500 thousand subscribers — it was an excellent result. We decided to immediately organize a tour to 48 cities», — explains Instasamka in her blog.

She recalled that her fee at that time was supposed to be 200–250 thousand rubles (approximately $2,000–$2,500 at current rates) per concert. In cities where the number of spectators was under a thousand, they paid even more — about 400 thousand rubles (approximately $4,000).

«We announced the tour, prepared the venues, and suddenly they write to us: “Friends, you must give up part of the tour income — 30–40, or even 50 percent”. And then I realized that from each city I wouldn’t get 200–250 thousand, but a maximum of 100 thousand rubles (approximately $1,000). For me, it was a big blow, because I was counting on one amount. I needed to help my family and Oleg’s family, pay for the apartment. We were in complete shock, because it was already impossible to refuse the concerts: the venues were booked, we would have to pay penalties, and we would have gotten into huge debts if we hadn’t gone», — tells the star.

The songwriter with whom Instasamka collaborated stopped responding. In the singer’s opinion, she acted unfairly towards them, because the girl had already been paid for each track, and now, as it turned out, they had to share the performance fees as well.

«As a result, it turned out that I went to “work off” 48 cities essentially for some uncle, receiving in the end half of what I was supposed to get, and at the same time paying percentages for performance and for rights. In short, I was deceived, — it says in the diary, — I completed the tour, and we had to lower the level of accommodation and transfer: we traveled by trains, by cheap cars, flew in the worst seats on planes. We had little money for food, everything was calculated down to the penny. Roughly speaking, I signed up for 48 cities — that’s a total of three months of “slavery”».

Instasamka said that her first tours affected not only her mental state but also her physical one. Due to stress, the girl started having skin problems, her body literally became covered with scabs. She often got sick, but had no right to refuse to perform.

«I can’t postpone any concert, so I go on stage with hot tea. My voice lasts for about three songs, and then only a whisper remains — I have to drink more tea to produce at least some sound. I stopped liking my tracks, I hate them. The living conditions are disgusting, we were deceived — it’s just a hellish ordeal. We live in very cheap rooms, there are cockroaches here, water leaks, in some hotels there is only cold water. There is no premium reception. Everything is terrible», — this is how the star describes the tour on the pages of her personal diary.

But very recently, the singer surprised everyone by announcing that she released her last musical album. However, the girl does not plan to end her career — she will only change her pseudonym.
