The supply of heat and hot water from the Tsitadelskaya boiler house in Kronstadt was restored on Saturday, January 31. The press service of TEK SPb JSC (Thermal Energy Company of St. Petersburg) reported that the energy source has been brought to the specified mode.

«As of 09:40 on January 31, the heat and power engineers of TEK SPb JSC have restored the supply of hot water and heat to consumers from the Tsitadelskaya boiler house. The energy source has been brought to the specified mode, the parameters of the heat carrier have been restored. Housing organizations have been notified of the need to connect residential buildings,» the company said in a statement.

TEK SPb explained that management companies may need some time to connect consumers.

The administration of Kronstadt, in turn, stated that there was no complete shutdown of heating. The situation was characterized as a temporary reduction in heating parameters, and hot water was absent only in part of the housing stock.

«Due to a technical failure at the Tsitadelskaya boiler house, the heating parameters were temporarily reduced, and the supply of hot water was limited only to some residential buildings. The heating system continued and continues to function,» the city administration noted.

The head of the administration of the Kronstadt district, Andrei Kononov, also confirmed that TEK SPb has resumed the supply of heat and hot water.

On his page on VKontakte, he wrote: «Housing organizations have been notified of the need to connect residential buildings and are already carrying out the work. We draw attention to the fact that connecting buildings to the hot water supply system is happening gradually.»

In the community «Podslushano Kronstadt» (Kronstadt Overheard), residents shared contradictory information:

  • some pointed to the continuing absence of heating and hot water;
  • others noted that the radiators started heating up, but water did not flow;
  • others claimed that hot water had already appeared.

The day before, on January 30, numerous complaints about the absence of heating and hot water supply were recorded in Kronstadt. The head of the administration, Andrei Kononov, then explained that the cause was a technical failure on the Oboronenergo networks, which led to the shutdown of equipment at the Tsitadelskaya boiler house.
