Coffee Machine removes roadside outlet after fatal crash

The coffee chain has not specified when the outlet might reopen at its former location.
One of the roadside cafe outlets of Coffee Machine on Katernaya Street was removed due to a prosecutor«s order. On social media, the chain explained that the measure is temporary until violations are fixed, but it»s unknown if the outlet will return to the same spot.
«As a result of the terrible tragedy that occurred earlier at a similar pit stop run by our colleagues, the administration organized inspections of mobile food service establishments. Many businesses, including ours, received orders to fix violations. As a result of the order, we were forced to remove the coffee shop that had been at this location for almost 10 years,» Coffee Machine wrote on Instagram (an extremist organization banned in Russia).
The nearest coffee shop on the way to the sea remains on Russky Island, at the turn to Tobizina. The company is also accepting proposals for land lease but hopes to restore the outlet on Katernaya — one of the most beloved spots by customers.
In early December, the popular pit stop «Eda i Tochka» (Food and Point) on Nekrasovskaya had to be removed after an inspection. The chain«s management said it would return as soon as the violations are fixed. Outlets of other companies on Nekrasovskaya, Katernaya, Makovskogo, Tobolskaya, on Russky Island, and on Shturma Street in the De-Friz settlement were also affected.
It turned out that the structures were installed without meeting technical requirements or coordinating with road owners. Moreover, the owners didn«t even have permits to use the land plots.
Mass inspections of roadside cafes began after an accident on Katernaya Street in Vladivostok, where a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross crashed into a pit stop. The building collapsed from the impact, and employees inside were injured. Subsequently, one girl died.
The management of «Eda i Tochka» said it would provide all possible assistance to the injured employees and the relatives of the deceased. They do not plan to restore the destroyed pavilion for moral reasons, and for others, they will look for solutions that could theoretically prevent such incidents.
