Weekly Food Price Changes in Altai Krai

In mid-January, prices for popular goods are actively rising in Altai Krai. Over the week, butter, tomatoes, and cucumbers increased the most. The cost of most other products also rose, but not as significantly. The only exception was sugar, whose price slightly decreased.
This and other data come from the weekly research by Altai Krai Statistics. NGS22.RU studied the monitoring information and found out how prices changed from January 12 to 19, 2026.
Thus, butter in the region increased again by 33.54 rubles (approximately $0.34 at current rates). Now, a kilogram of the product will cost 1211.63 rubles (about $12) instead of 1178.09 rubles (about $12). Milk and cottage cheese also rose in price, but not as significantly, by only 1.7 rubles (about $0.02) and 0.06 rubles (less than $0.01), respectively. However, the cost of sour cream did not change over the week, remaining at 309.39 rubles (about $3) per 1 kg.
The cost of cucumbers and tomatoes also increased significantly. The most popular vegetables rose by 20.71 rubles (about $0.21) and 11.45 rubles (about $0.11), respectively. For other goods in this category, it is now necessary to pay more: bananas (+3 rubles, about $0.03), apples (+2.74 rubles, about $0.03), carrots (+1.59 rubles, about $0.02), onions (+1 ruble, about $0.01), potatoes (+0.63 rubles, about $0.01), and white cabbage (+0.33 rubles, less than $0.01).
Meanwhile, price tags for meat practically did not change. The largest increase — by 1.22 rubles (about $0.01) — occurred for chicken. Pork added 0.09 rubles (less than $0.01) to its price. At the same time, the cost of beef and lamb remained the same: 770.23 rubles (about $8) and 847.91 rubles (about $8), respectively.
Other popular goods also became more expensive: chicken eggs (+1.2 rubles, about $0.01), sunflower oil (+0.45 rubles, less than $0.01), and wheat flour (+0.17 rubles, less than $0.01). It became more advantageous to buy only sugar, whose price decreased by 1.07 rubles (about $0.01).
