Tyumen residents share photos of their stocked freezers

Tyumen residents have discussed their strategic freezer stockpiles. They also showed off their frozen treasures—cutlets for the month ahead, berries from their dachas (summer homes), and soup bases. Some have made homemade dumplings that are awaiting their moment of glory to be eaten during the New Year holidays. We are publishing this chilly collection of delicious preparations. Take a look at the photos and note down some tips.
Svetlana showed us her freezer. It seems her family really loves berries. That«s why she stocks up on these gifts from the dacha.

You might be surprised, but such a sight is in the refrigerator of a resident named Marina. She told us: «We bought a vacuum sealer. It saves so much space in the freezer! We got carried away with making preserves, and I couldn»t squeeze butter into the freezer the other day.«

Another reader, Natalya, also shared the contents of her freezer. And here«s what»s there:
«If we»re talking strictly about strategic reserves, then everything is from grandmothers: raspberries, gooseberries, pumpkin, beets for borscht, apples for compote, and grated carrots for various dishes. And everything is labeled. Because there are apples only for compote, and others for both compote and charlotte,« said the Tyumen resident.

Yelena from Tyumen said that children of the 90s are quite thrifty.
«On top are meatballs, stuffed cabbage rolls, cottage cheese pastries for breakfast with strawberries and spinach, noodles for beshbarmak (a traditional meat and noodle dish). Below there»s something else, I don«t remember what anymore. In the second drawer are stuffed peppers, berries from the dacha, and in the third, just meat and fish,» explained Yelena.

«In my hungry childhood, everything was frozen! And so, this habit has stayed with me and my family. Now in our refrigerator there is meat, fish, and preserves. I freeze butter, cottage cheese, fresh vegetables, herbs, and even peas. I can also throw already boiled vegetables into the freezer, carrots, for example. This can be used later for salads. Without dumplings, nowhere. They are eaten by all members of our family, including children. In the freezer there are many berries—sea buckthorn, lingonberries, cranberries, cherries. I make compotes. This time I also froze chanterelles, but they needed to be boiled first to get rid of the bitterness,» Tokmakova described in detail.

Another one of our employees showed her freezer. And she has a rich assortment of products and preserves there.
«I froze homemade caviar for the New Year. Relatives give butter, I don»t refuse, it won«t be extra, especially with such prices. We froze berries, and there»s also duck. Traditionally brought, I«ll cook it on January 1. And, of course, homemade dumplings and vareniki (filled dumplings). Where without them!» the girl said.

We show you another refrigerator with wonderful frozen products and preserves. This Tyumen resident has berries, butter, lemon slices, nuggets, dumplings, and meat.

And for dessert, we left «the man»s freezer«. That»s what a Tyumen resident calls it.
«The man»s freezer. Dumplings, turkey, pork, chicken, chicken bones for soup, schnitzel, and sausages,« wrote the Tyumen resident.

Also, an active discussion was sparked by a post from Tyumen resident Maria, who showed her grocery basket. The girl shared her outrage: for 1,000 rubles (approximately $10 at current rates) in the supermarket, she managed to buy a meager set of goods. Other Tyumen residents joined in her indignation. They showed their grocery baskets and talked about food expenses. Check out our previous article and write in the comments how much money you spend on one trip to the store.
