Central Bank details vegetable price hikes in Khanty-Mansi region

In winter, vegetables traditionally become more expensive due to increased costs for producers to heat greenhouses.
In Yugra (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), vegetables and fruits rose in price by 3.34% in December. The increase was most notable for cucumbers, potatoes, beets, onions, and carrots, according to the Central Bank of Russia, citing data from Rosstat, the Federal State Statistics Service.
«Prices for fruit and vegetable products increased most noticeably. In December, cucumbers became more expensive again, which is associated with increased costs for greenhouse producers for heating and electricity. Also, storage costs for harvested open-ground vegetables rose, and demand increased for vegetables traditionally used in preparing New Year»s dishes. For these reasons, potatoes, beets, onions, and carrots became more expensive. However, due to a good harvest, some vegetables rose in price less than usual in December, for example cucumbers, and tomatoes even became cheaper,« the analysts said.
Meanwhile, over the year, compared to December 2024, fruit and vegetable products became cheaper by 10.85%.
Currently, in chain stores, a correspondent from 86.RU found the following prices.
