Russian Railways opens Victory Day train ticket sales to Volgograd
Russian Railways (RZD) has started selling tickets for a special tourist train that will depart from Moscow to Volgograd ahead of Victory Day. It will be the only such train and will leave from Paveletsky Station on May 8.
According to the schedule, train No. 921/922 will depart on May 8 at 14:15 and arrive in Volgograd the next morning at 10:30. A guide will meet tourists and arrange bus transport for a tour. The itinerary includes visits to the Stalingrad Battle Panorama Museum, Mamayev Kurgan, and the Heroes« Alley. A steamboat ride on the Volga River is also included, offering views of the passage under the »dancing« bridge and a new monument to rivermen.
After dinner, the group will return to the station. The return train will depart for Moscow at 22:58 on May 9, with arrival scheduled for 21:55 on May 10.
The cost of the tour varies depending on accommodation:
- Four-berth compartment: 41,200 rubles (approx. $434 at current rates) per person.
- Two-berth compartment: 65,400 rubles (approx. $688 at current rates) per person.
- If one passenger occupies a two-berth compartment: 117,300 rubles (approx. $1,200 at current rates).
- For children aged 0 to 9: 40,700 rubles (approx. $428) in a four-berth compartment, 64,900 rubles (approx. $683) in a two-berth compartment.
- Child without a berth or breakfast: 15,500 rubles (approx. $163) regardless of compartment type.
- Extra berth in a four-berth compartment: 24,600 rubles (approx. $259).
Earlier, the company Vodokhod began offering cruise packages for Victory Day. Its tour on the motor ship «Sergey Kuchkin» from Samara costs from 41,667 to 102,600 rubles (approx. $439 to $1,100 at current rates) depending on the cabin.
