Students at Ryazan Pedagogical College have complained about cold in their classrooms. The temperature dropped along with the frost: for several days, thermometers in the regional capital have shown up to -30°C (-22°F).

One student, Polina, asked for help.

«Please, it is very cold at the Pedagogical College. Help organize remote learning or make it warmer,» the student wrote.

But the Ministry of Education of the Ryazan Region stated that the temperature in the premises meets the standard. Representatives of the agency checked it on 3 February.

«We understand that in the conditions of a sharp cold snap, it is especially important to ensure a comfortable temperature regime in educational premises. We care about keeping colleges, schools and other educational organizations warm,» the Ministry of Education said.

In the classrooms, workshops, laboratories and gym of Ryazan Pedagogical College, thermometers showed from +18°C (64°F) to +20°C (68°F). Such readings are within the norm: according to SanPiN, the temperature should be from +18°C (64°F) to +24°C (75°F).

Since the temperature is within the norm, nothing can be done about it during the frost period.
