Over the past year, the price of A-92 gasoline in the region increased by 10.1%. According to the rating, on the average net salary, a Volgograd resident can purchase 952 liters of fuel.
On February 3, prices were raised at Lukoil gas stations: A-92 and A-95 gasoline increased by 25 kopecks, A-100 by 30 kopecks. The cost of diesel fuel did not change.
At Rosneft gas stations, all types of automotive gasoline increased in price by 30 kopecks. Diesel fuel also remained unchanged.
Rates at Gazprom gas stations, after a significant increase on January 26, remained at the previous level.
Doctor of Economic Sciences Igor Belskikh noted in an interview: «The fuel market is highly dependent on the individual indicators of each region. Roughly speaking, on the presence of oil refineries, supply problems, and so on. The Volgograd region in this regard is universal: we have a large oil refinery, many fuel operators and retailers. But due to geopolitical problems, we are currently suffering somewhat. However, I would not say that everything is bad.»
He added: «Among other things, the specifics of industry taxation have an impact. And taxes are easiest to collect from transparent markets. The fuel market is precisely such a market, which is why it experiences a strong tendency for price increases.»
The economist did not provide forecasts for 2026, pointing to many variable factors that could affect the cost of fuel.
