A memorial plaque dedicated to Vladimir Vysotsky will be unveiled on January 25 at 14:00 on the facade of the «Torpedo» Sports Palace, located on Chkalov Street in Yaroslavl.

Vladimir Vysotsky is a famous Soviet poet, actor, and singer-songwriter. On January 25, 2026, he would have turned 88 years old.

The authorities of Yaroslavl made the decision to install the memorial plaque on July 4, 2025. The choice of location is related to a historical event: on February 28, 1979, Vysotsky performed three consecutive concerts in this very sports palace.

«Vysotsky will forever remain the voice of a generation, expressing the deep feelings and experiences of millions of Soviet people. His work was a reflection of reality, a truthful look at the life of society at that time,» explained the Yaroslavl city hall.

The installation of the plaque is seen as a sign of respect for the artist«s legacy and a way to preserve his memory for future generations.

On the same day, January 25, at 17:00, a concert titled «Not Even Half a Year Will Pass» will be held at the «Krasny Perckop» Cultural Center, timed to the memorial date. Ticket prices range from 400 to 1,000 rubles (approximately $4–11 at current rates), with most of the seats already taken.
