Yakutia Woman Suspected of Drowning Son in Moscow Bathtub

Authorities discovered the boy«s body in the bathtub of a Moscow apartment during their investigation.
The body of a five-year-old boy was found in an apartment on Brateevskaya Street in Moscow. According to preliminary data from the city prosecutor«s office, his own mother drowned him. This was reported on 24 January by the press service of the agency. As writes the Telegram channel Baza, the child»s mother is a 46-year-old native of Yakutia named Alexandra Sh.

The apartment on Brateevskaya Street where the mother and son resided is now a crime scene.
«In an apartment on Brateevskaya Street, the body of a minor boy born in 2020 was found with signs of mechanical asphyxiation as a result of drowning in water. According to preliminary data, from the mother»s words, she inflicted bodily injuries on her son,« the Moscow prosecutor»s office said in a statement.

Unofficial reports indicate the suspect is a 46-year-old woman originally from the Yakutia region.
According to information from channel Baza, the woman is allegedly a native of Yakutia named Alexandra. She told investigators that in the morning she went to church, and then decided to kill her son so that «he would go to heaven.» For this, she filled the bathtub with water, brought the child there, put a rope (according to other data — a belt) around his neck and strangled him until the boy stopped showing signs of life. After that, the body was left in the bathtub.
A psychological-psychiatric examination will be conducted on the woman, added the press service of the Moscow prosecutor«s office. The establishment of all circumstances, as well as the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case, initiated under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder with special cruelty), are under the control of the Nagatinsky Interdistrict Prosecutor»s Office.
At the scene, the work of law enforcement agencies is coordinated by the deputy district prosecutor Maxim Skrylev.
