The Novosibirsk District Court placed Vladimir Ternovoy, head of a laboratory at the Vector Center, under house arrest. Investigators from the Investigative Committee (SK) suspect him of receiving bribes totaling 4.7 million rubles (about $49,500) (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and embezzling grant funds (Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He will be under house arrest at least until March 30, according to a journalist from NGS.RU reporting from the court.
According to investigators, over five years (from August 2020 to September 2025) the suspect received nearly 5 million rubles (about $52,600) from a commercial organization, and also embezzled part of the funds allocated under a grant, transferring them to accounts of third-party companies.
