A Ufa resident has received a real prison term, and the Supreme Court of Bashkiria has toughened his sentence after he decided to pet and tease service dogs. To do so, the drunken man came to a kennel and started sticking his hands through the fence. The situation escalated to the extreme and led to a criminal case. UFA1.RU provides the details.

The Leninsky District Court of Ufa published the verdict in the case of a 46-year-old resident of the Nizhegorodka district, who one day went out to a store for vodka. His path led past a kennel with service dogs: he saw a dog behind the mesh and decided to pet it, and to do so started sticking his hands through.

That day, a female dog handler was on duty — she noticed the inappropriate man and demanded he leave, otherwise threatening to call for backup. Yuri offered to buy the dog, but was again refused.

Yuri, the Ufa resident, who had apparently not been previously convicted, did not appreciate such a threat and decided that hitting a woman, especially one in uniform, was a courageous act. He did so — saying that she was violating his personal space. The blow hit her in the stomach — the employee crouched down from severe pain and was spat at by him. After that, Yuri rushed home, where he drank strong alcohol and went to sleep.

The victim reported to the duty office. The operatives quickly found out who did it: within a few hours they were standing at the door of Yuri«s apartment. They knocked, but he did not open. Then one of the officers crawled to a slightly open window and called out to the sleeping man, said he was from the police and demanded he open the door. Reluctantly, the man got up, opened the door — three men were standing there, introduced themselves as police officers, said why they had come for him, and offered him a ride to the station.

The Ufa resident did not want to go anywhere, started swearing, and then grabbed one operative and pushed him — explaining that he did not know who was in front of him. But an hour later, Yuri was already sitting in handcuffs at the station and continued to behave aggressively — he was told that he had hit a girl, but he did not understand that. Then the man said that he was hit, he fell to the floor, and therefore, while lying down, he started to fight back and hit another operative. Yuri stated during the investigation and in court that the operatives allegedly did not introduce themselves, so he did not know who he was dealing with.

In court, the Ufa resident slightly rewrote his version, saying that in the end no one hit him — that he wanted to get up from the chair, fell on his own, got scared, and started kicking everyone he saw. Thus, the blow landed on a third officer.

When deciding on the punishment, the court took into account that Yuri confessed to everything, repented, and also that he has a young child (under 14). At the same time, at home he was characterized negatively and was under a doctor«s observation due to his addiction to alcohol.

In the end, for each police officer he was given one year, and taking into account partial summation — one and a half years in a penal colony-settlement. He was credited for time in the pre-trial detention center: one day counted as two.

The Supreme Court of Bashkiria toughened Yuri«s sentence — adding 2 months for each police officer. Total — 2 years in a settlement colony. When the resident of Nizhegorodka was detained — the published verdict hides the date, but in any case, he will spend no more than a year in the colony.

Recall that earlier a Ufa family almost went to a colony because they got into a fight with Rosgvardia (Russian National Guard) employees. They arrived after the panic button was pressed in the Zelenaya Roshcha (Green Grove) restaurant. The couple got off with fines.
