A resident of Tyumen will stand trial in Shadrinsk for bribing teachers at a local college, according to the Telegram channel of the Kurgan Region prosecutor«s office.
According to investigators, the accused, while studying at the college, transferred 30,000 rubles (about $333 at current rates) to a teacher over a year, from April 2023 to April 2024, so that the teacher would pass him on tests and exams. He paid another teacher 19,000 rubles (about $211 at current rates) for the preparation, approval, and defense of his diploma thesis. The Tyumen resident did not show up for the exams.
If the court finds the accused guilty, he could face a maximum penalty of 8 years in prison and a fine of up to thirty times the bribe amount.
