Samara Resident Aided Fake Sobriety Certificates for Drunk Colleagues

The narcologist received 150,000 rubles (approximately $1,500 at current rates) for falsifying medical reports over several months.
The Oktyabrsky City Court has concluded a corruption scandal involving a medical professional. This time, a 36-year-old resident of Syzran heard the verdict. He was found guilty of mediation in bribery.
According to the case summary, from September 2022 to April 2023, the man was an employee at a local enterprise. Colleagues repeatedly turned to the Syzran resident for help. The hapless workers were sometimes stopped at the factory checkpoint showing signs of intoxication. Security sent the intoxicated factory workers for examination.
This is precisely where their colleague«s help was needed. The man arranged for a »small favor« with an acquaintance, a narcologist. The medic, for a fee, prepared knowingly false reports stating that the factory workers were sober. They transferred money to the man, and he forwarded it to the cards of either the narcologist himself or his wife. Over several months, 105,000 rubles (approximately $1,100 at current rates) were transferred to the medic.
In total, according to materials published on the court«s website, there were about 10 such »requests for help.« However, for seven episodes, criminal cases were discontinued and the Syzran resident was released from criminal liability. The documents state that he actively cooperated with the investigation and assisted in uncovering the crimes.
The enterprising narcologist himself also ended up in the dock. According to case materials, he has over 20 episodes of bribe-taking, official forgery, and fraud. He heard the verdict back in October 2025, and in this trial, he was already a witness. The doctor was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison, a fine of 2.3 million rubles (approximately $23,000 at current rates), and a lengthy ban from holding certain positions.
His acquaintance, who passed on the money, was a witness in the medic«s case. But later, as one of the witnesses explained, law enforcement became interested in the middleman himself. As a result, he first became a suspect, then an accused, and finally a defendant.
The trial itself lasted several months. At the end of December 2025, the Syzran resident heard his verdict.
«The court sentenced the guilty party to a fine of 850,000 rubles (approximately $8,500 at current rates),» explained the Samara Region prosecutor«s office.
Several years ago, another similar scandal erupted in the region. Former Syzran prosecutor Vadim Fedorin came under the close scrutiny of law enforcement. Investigators were interested in his relationships with representatives of LLC «Hippocrates». This firm was suspected of issuing fake certificates for drivers.
