The Prosecutor«s Office of Primorsky Krai is seeking to confiscate property belonging to former Vladivostok Vice-Mayor Natalya Sokolova, located in the Sadgorod district, for the state. The total value of the real estate is estimated at 27 million rubles ($300,000 at current rates). The corresponding lawsuit has already been filed in court, the supervisory agency reported.
The property in question includes three buildings and two land plots registered to Natalya Sokolova, who has been in a pretrial detention center since December, as well as to her parents, Sergei and Nadezhda Konstantinov. Prosecutor of Primorsky Krai Sergei Stolyarov stated at a board meeting that the lawsuit against the former official and her family members was filed last year. The prosecutor«s office believes the property may have been acquired through illegal income, as the defense has not provided evidence of lawful purchase.
At the same time, the supervisory agency clarified that the case in the Sovetsky District Court of Vladivostok has been temporarily suspended due to the death of one of the defendants. The trial will resume after the heirs assume property rights.
According to the prosecutor«s office, the disputed properties are located on Glavnaya Street in Sadgorod, opposite the Lesnaya Polyana recreation center, which was also previously confiscated by the state. On a plot of about 2,700 square meters, there is a two-story residential building with an area of 316.8 thousand square meters, outbuildings, a landscaped area, and an outdoor pool. Ownership is registered to Natalya Sokolova»s father.
The lawsuit against Natalya Sokolova was filed under the law on monitoring the compliance of expenses with income for persons holding public office. The prosecutor«s office added that in 2025 in Primorsky Krai, claims totaling over 31 million rubles ($344,400 at current rates) were filed under similar corruption lawsuits, and more than 38 million rubles ($422,200 at current rates) were recovered in satisfied cases.
Simultaneously, a criminal case against Natalya Sokolova has been under consideration in the Sovetsky District Court of Vladivostok for over a year. She is charged with abuse of office in the disposal of land plots, including at the sports market and on Shoshina Hill, as well as accepting a bribe from a developer of a residential complex in Sadgorod. According to the investigation, for providing a plot for development, the entrepreneur paid for the construction of a pool worth about 1 million rubles ($11,111 at current rates).
Furthermore, in December 2025, another criminal case was opened regarding the illegal alienation of land plots on Nerchinskaya and Fonvizina streets, causing damage of 28.5 million rubles ($316,700 at current rates). The plots were sold at a reduced price under the pretext of building garages, but subsequently, multi-story residential buildings appeared on this area.
Natalya Sokolova herself spent about a year and a half in a pretrial detention center. Subsequently, the preventive measure was relaxed several times, but under the new criminal case, she was again taken into custody. Later, the appellate instance replaced arrest with house arrest. Information on whether the prosecutor«s office will appeal this decision is not available.
