Detention Extended for Ex-Mayor Dmitry Drany

In Yaroslavl, the detention of Dmitry Drany, former director of the road company Yardormost and ex-mayor of Kirov, who is accused of taking bribes, has been extended. The decision was made at a session of the Yaroslavl Regional Court on February 3.
«The term of detention has been extended until March 14, 2026,» the court«s press service clarified to 76.RU.
Dmitry Drany was detained in July 2025 on charges of taking bribes totaling over 10 million rubles (approximately $100,000 at current exchange rates). According to investigators, from November 2023 to March 2024, the former director of Yardormost received money from businessmen in exchange for awarding favorable contracts and facilitating the acceptance of delivered goods and completed work.
Dmitry Drany was born on October 29, 1972, in the town of Uchaly-1 in the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now Bashkortostan, Russia). He began his career as an auto mechanic and gradually moved into management positions. In 2005, he was appointed director of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gordormoststroy in Kirov. From 2010 to 2014, he served as mayor of Kirov. He served as general director of JSC Yardormost from April 2023 to July 2025.
