Court sentences Neverov for fraud in Chita gasification

The Central District Court of Chita sentenced former gasification concessionaire of Chita, ex-general director of the East Arctic Oil and Gas Corporation (VANK) Stanislav Neverov, to 6 years and 6 months in a general regime correctional colony for fraud in the project«s implementation. This was reported on January 26 by a correspondent of »Chita.Ru« from the courtroom of the Central District Court of Chita.
«The court ruled to find Stanislav Neverov guilty. For the theft of 30 million 80 thousand rubles (at current rates), impose a sentence of 4 years and 9 months; for the theft of 6 million rubles (at current rates) — 4 years and 3 months; for 13 million rubles (at current rates) — 4 years and 6 months,» said the judge.
She added that, based on the totality of crimes through partial summation of the punishment already imposed by the Khabarovsk Central Court, it is decreed to set a total term of 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony.
The court also granted the civil claim of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services for compensation of 48 million and 40 thousand rubles (at current rates).
According to the prosecution, since 2022, as part of the national project «Ecology», a project for the gasification of private households has been implemented in Chita. In order to carry out measures to convert houses from coal heating to gas, in May 2023, the regional ministry of housing and communal services, energy, digitalization, and communication provided a subsidy to cover costs in the amount of 700 million rubles (at current rates) to a commercial organization.
Knowing this, the defendant created an organized criminal group to steal budget funds by deceiving employees of the executive authorities of the Zabaykalsky Krai and other persons, for which he involved two of his acquaintances and the head of a contractor.
From June to August 2023, they concluded fictitious contracts for the development and installation of software, rental of vehicles, and also provided interest-free loans to 5 individuals, stealing 49 million rubles (at current rates).
