Chelyabinsk father threatens doctor in clinic after child's exam

In Chelyabinsk, an enraged father created a scandal with a duty doctor after the latter examined his child. A three-minute video, not five seconds of which is free of obscenities, has spread across Telegram channels. The Investigative Committee«s Chelyabinsk Region directorate has opened a criminal case for hooliganism with the threat of violence.

According to the Investigative Committee, everything happened this week at a clinic in Chelyabinsk«s Central District. In the video, presumably recorded by the duty doctor, a father stands in the doorway of the office yelling at the doctor.

«Come out, I»ll smash your face in. Come here, bitch. I«ll kill you for my child. Go on, write a statement, you wimp. I»m not afraid of doing time, you understand?«

During pauses in the profanity-laced tirade, the doctor tried to reason with the father.

«Could you please listen to me. I wrote out the treatment for the child, it»s all written down for him. How and with what to treat him. I explained everything to the mother, I explained it clearly,« says the doctor.

The Investigative Committee reacted to the video.

«The man, being dissatisfied with the treatment prescribed for the child, began to behave aggressively in one of the medical institutions in the Central District of Chelyabinsk and threatened the duty doctor with violence. At the same time, he used obscene language directed at the medical staff.»

A criminal case has been initiated for hooliganism with the threat of violence.

Part 1, Article 213(a) of the Russian Criminal Code provides for various penalties ranging from a fine of 300,000 to 500,000 rubles (approx. $3,300–5,500 at current rates) to up to five years of imprisonment.
