Roof collapse at Wildberries hub in Yurga damages carrier supports, future uncertain

The Wildberries hub in Yurga, which opened in December, suffered a roof collapse a month later.
The roof collapse at a Wildberries logistics facility in Yurga has not affected parcel delivery to residents. The company intends to restore and reopen the hub, but there are currently limitations, the marketplace«s press service told NGS42.RU on Sunday, January 25.
Currently, the warehouse is still dealing with the aftermath of the emergency, in particular restoring the structures of the collapsed roof.
A Wildberries representative noted that no final decision has been made on opening the complex.
«Due to worsening weather conditions caused by a sharp drop in temperature, additional time is required to fully assess the situation and make decisions,» the press service noted.
Company employees promised to later announce when the deadlines for resuming the logistics hub in Yurga will be determined.
According to the marketplace, the suspension has not affected order fulfillment. All outlets in Kuzbass (the Kemerovo region) continue to operate normally.
Meanwhile, an NGS42.RU source in the Yurga administration reported that due to the emergency, serious problems have arisen — the load-bearing structures were deformed, which complicates the repair.
«The supports, among other things, were bent. Because of this, it is unclear when the repair work will be completed,» the publication«s interlocutor said.
The collapse affected the load-bearing structures. That is, beams, floors, supports. They were deformed. And that is exactly what makes the repair work difficult. When they will be completed is unclear precisely because of this.
The first stage of the large WB (Wildberries) warehouse was launched in early December, and a month later, as NGS42.RU learned, the roof collapsed there. Three employees were injured.
The company soon confirmed the information about the emergency, clarifying that the structures collapsed under the weight of snow. The warehouse was decided to be temporarily closed for safety reasons, and law enforcement also began work there.
