Japan Tobacco owner twice changes country of legal registration
The company JTI Investments GmbH, which owns Japan Tobacco factories in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, changed its country of legal registration twice during December.
The firm was originally registered in Germany and is the founder of the Russian companies Petro in St. Petersburg and Kres Neva in Leningrad Oblast, which directly manage production.
In early December, the legal address was moved to Luxembourg, and as of December 29, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL), the company is registered in Switzerland.
Similar changes occurred with the founder of the Moscow division, J.T.I. Innovative Products.
JTI«s office commented that both factories remain part of the corporation, calling the registration changes »technical« and explaining the need to improve operational efficiency.
