By the evening of February 2, traffic intensity on the streets of St. Petersburg increased to 8 points. This indicator is two points above the daily average. The most difficult situation developed in the central and southeastern districts.
The service Yandex.Probki (Yandex.Traffic) recorded that around 18:00, the longest traffic jam in the last seven days had formed in the city. On the inner side of the Ring Road (KAD), a queue accumulated over 18 kilometers long — from Shafirovsky Prospekt to Oktyabrskaya Embankment. On the outer ring of the KAD, the jam is slightly shorter, about 13 km, and stretches from Moskovskoye to Murmanskoye Highway.
Severe difficulties are also observed on Oktyabrskaya Embankment, Sofiya Street, and Moskovskoye Highway. Traffic practically came to a halt on Narodnaya and Ivanovskaya Streets, Nevsky Overpass, and Slavy Prospekt, in both directions.
In the center of St. Petersburg, the main traffic jams formed at Ploshchad Vosstaniya and near the Obvodny Canal metro station. Sadovaya Street, Kutuzov and Voskresenskaya embankments are congested. On the other bank of the Neva, Arsenalnaya, Sverdlovskaya, Pirogovskaya, and Vyborgskaya embankments came to a standstill. Dense traffic is also noted on major highways leading to the northern districts, as well as on the Petrograd Side and roads to the center.
