Drone-damaged car compensation in Rostov Oblast starts in March

Compensation is provided for vehicles damaged in drone attacks if owners satisfy specific eligibility criteria.
The acceptance of applications for compensation for cars damaged by unmanned aerial vehicle attacks in Rostov Oblast will start in March. Governor Yuri Slusar announced this decision in his Telegram channel.
‘I ask for patience; we need to complete all regulatory procedures. But the process has been launched, and we will not back down,’ Slusar told residents.
The rules for providing compensation were established back in December 2025. The amount of payments is limited to maximum sums:
- for damaged vehicles — no more than 500,000 rubles (approximately $5,000 at current rates);
- for completely destroyed ones — no more than 1 million rubles (approximately $10,000 at current rates).
Only car owners who meet two key criteria can claim the subsidy:
- their car was damaged or destroyed no earlier than January 1, 2025;
- the owner is officially recognized as a victim under Article 203 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act) and has a confirming document.
The idea of compensation was publicly announced by the governor back in early December during a direct line. At that time, Slusar explained that fully reimbursing the cost of any car is probably not possible, but a basic level of payments will be determined.
