Sergei, a resident of Yekaterinburg, found the bird in critical condition near a house on Malysheva Street. The feathered creature could not take flight and was struggling to move on the ground, so the man decided to take it home.

The Eurasian pygmy owl, rescued after a crow attack, vocalizes in the video as part of its recovery process.

“Looks like crows pecked at it, there«s a small abrasion on its head. It needs to be treated. Probably still a chick,” Sergei explained.

The rescued bird turned out to be a Eurasian pygmy owl. This species is listed in the Red Book of Sverdlovsk Oblast and many other regions of Russia.

“I put it in a vacuum cleaner box, poured some water. It warmed up, drank, bathed, cleaned its feathers, and started crying, asking for food. It couldn«t fly, and I don»t have special food (live mice and so on) at home. I decided to hand it over to a nursery,” Sergei shared details.

To place the owl, the man had to contact four nurseries. Only one of them agreed to take the bird. The feathered one was delivered before closing, and now its life is out of danger — specialists are providing help.
