Stray Dogs Attack Man in Volgograd

In the Kirovsky district of Volgograd, a pack of stray dogs has been terrorizing local residents for several months.
One of the victims suffered a bite to the leg and required medical assistance, including rabies and tetanus vaccinations.
The victim, a resident of Rosa Luxemburg Street, said the attack occurred near building No. 5.
«A pack of 5-6 dogs settled near the heating main. There have been many complaints from residents. The dogs are aggressive. The pack appeared about 2-3 months ago,» he said. «At one point, the whole pack ran towards me. They barked closely as I walked, and one of the dogs suddenly bit me from behind. Well, I»m an adult, but we have a gymnasium and kindergartens nearby, with small children—what if they attack them?«
Local residents have repeatedly appealed to the municipal institution «Severnoye» (MBU «Severnoye») demanding the capture of dangerous animals, but they cited a queue and suggested waiting.
Attempts to obtain a comment from MBU «Severnoye» were unsuccessful, leading to an official request being sent to the administration of Volgograd.
After the information about the attacks became widely known, the investigative department for the Kirovsky district of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Volgograd region initiated a procedural check.
Investigators have already contacted the victim and arranged a meeting.
