At a meeting of the Orenburg region government, one of the most acute problems of the region was discussed once again — stray dogs. As Governor Yevgeny Solntsev stated, he ordered the heads of municipalities to step up — the issue remains under his personal control. And three heads, apparently, are in trouble — they are in for a separate conversation with Solntsev.

«I repeat: each of them bears personal responsibility for the work being done. I have heard reports from the heads of six territories with the most difficult situation. We will talk separately with the heads of the Dombarovsky, Kvarkensky, and Svetlinsky districts: the municipalities have still not signed contracts with contractors. Such stalling is unacceptable — we must ensure the safety of Orenburg residents, primarily children,» Solntsev declared.

The officials in question are Vadim Pavlenko (Kvarkensky district), Mikhail Polyakov (Svetlinsky district), and Vladislav Blazhko (Dombarovsky district). Last year, Yevgeny Solntsev already had questions for the latter — due to disruptions in the central water supply.

Recall that officials stepped up on the «dog issue» only after an attack by stray dogs on children in Yasny resulted in a criminal case. Yevgeny Solntsev, as we already noted, not only took personal control of the situation and ordered the introduction of an extraordinary situation regime in several more municipalities, but also organized a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture. At that meeting, officials revealed the numbers: the draft regional budget allocates 82.6 million rubles (approximately 918,000 USD at current rates) for catching stray dogs, which should be enough for 7,937 animals.
