Arkhangelskstat published statistics on food and goods prices. We looked at how fish prices changed during 2025. By December 2025, prices in Arkhangelsk had slightly decreased compared to mid-year, but they did not return to January levels.
In December 2025, the average price for frozen fish (excluding salmon species) was 438 rubles (about $5 at current rates). In July, the average price was 444 rubles (about $5). In January 2025, it was 361 rubles (about $4).
A kilogram of fish fillet in December 2025 cost an average of 796 rubles (about $8). In July, the price was 825 rubles (about $9). In January 2025, it was 754 rubles (about $8).
Earlier, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin publicly stated that Russians need to eat more fish. However, not all residents of Arkhangelsk can afford regular purchases of seafood.
