Instasamka Reveals Nickname Change in Sobchak Interview
The rapper spent nearly three hours in conversation with journalist Ksenia Sobchak.
The scandalously famous blogger and singer Instasamka (Darya Zoteeva), born in Tobolsk, Tyumen Oblast, gave a lengthy three-hour interview to Ksenia Sobchak. During the candid conversation with the journalist, the rapper let her emotions flow, shared memories of her childhood, and announced exclusive news about changing her creative pseudonym.
About Her Difficult Childhood in Tobolsk
Answering the journalist«s questions, the rap artist admitted that music became an integral part of her life during her difficult childhood. A turning point that influenced the formation of her complex personality was her father leaving the family.
«Until I was seven, I was a normal child. I had a happy family. I had a mom, dad, grandmothers and grandfathers. And one day, when I was seven, my parents got divorced. I remember that day perfectly, when my dad was standing in a big leather jacket. He always smelled strongly of cigarettes. I come out into the hallway and realize that something is happening, because they never showed me that something was happening, everything was always super, and then one day we«re standing in the hallway and mom says that dad is leaving,» shared Darya.
Instasamka said that due to resentment towards her mother, her father also distanced himself greatly from her. After the family breakup, the upbringing of young Darya fell on the shoulders of one of her grandmothers.
«And then for the first time I felt a sense of loneliness, that something was wrong with me and it was all because of me. I started to withdraw into myself very deeply. Mom could snap at me. Say: “Are you stupid or what?”. And that really hurt me a lot, and I started to think that no one loved me at all,» admits Instasamka.
Trying to attract the attention of adults, Darya started wandering around abandoned buildings and climbing onto the roofs of tall houses, but her real outlet was roller skating.
«My favorite activity was to go out from early morning until late evening, roller skating and listening to music. That«s when my connection with music happened, and I found such an outlet in it. I didn»t want to hear what was happening around. I wanted to listen to music and fly away to some other planet,» said the singer.
About Changing Her Creative Pseudonym
In the interview with Ksenia Sobchak, Darya for the first time admitted that she plans to change her scandalous pseudonym soon.
«Soon there will be no nickname Instasamka. I am changing my name and leaving her in the memory of all people. We did everything we could with her,» declared the Tobolsk native.
The singer plans to release another album, consisting of several parts, and say goodbye to her creative pseudonym. Who Instasamka will be after changing her nickname, she did not say, explaining that her new trademark is not yet registered, but she slightly lifted the veil of secrecy. The singer«s new name will start with the letter »M«.
