The budget of Zabaykalsky Krai has allocated 469.6 million rubles (about $5.2 million at current rates) for supporting domestic and interregional air travel, according to a January 29 report on the official portal of the region.
The main portion of the funds—360.4 million rubles (approximately $4.0 million)—will be directed to regular flights connecting Chita with Menza, Kyra, Ust-Karenga, Yumurchen, Verkh-Usugli, Krasny Yar, Chara, Tungokochen, Krasnokamensk, Gazimursky Zavod, and Krasny Chikoy.
Another 109.2 million rubles (about $1.2 million) will be directed towards developing interregional air service. The funds will be used to maintain and expand flights to cities in neighboring Russian regions: Abakan, Blagoveshchensk, Gorno-Altaysk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Barnaul, Novokuznetsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
According to the Ministry of Finance, 447.1 million rubles (approximately $5.0 million) were allocated from the regional budget for air travel in 2025.
Ticket prices for domestic flights within Zabaykalsky Krai have increased since the start of 2025, with prices rising by 100–300 rubles (about $1–3) on various routes.
