Animal rights activists suggest burning dog critics after child's death
The most vocal animal rights activists may require legal defense due to their comments.
In Krasnoyarsk Krai, animal rights activists proposed burning the settlements of people who sympathize with the death of a 10-year-old child from dogs. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia ordered the initiation of a criminal case.
The appeal to law enforcement was published on the website «Argumenty Nedeli». In it, the publication«s employees ask Alexander Bastrykin to pay attention to the chat »Sobachya Sekta« (Dog Sect) — »Boltalka« (Chatter), where users actively discussed the death of the child near Krasnoyarsk and people who apparently oppose the free roaming of dogs.
«I»m already thinking how good it would be if some maniac showed up. Like in the old days. So that they would sit in their apartments, lead children by the hand everywhere, and everyone would be happy,« writes a user with the nickname Tatyana.
Later, the woman adds that she is surprised why the child was buried in a closed coffin and doubts that the coffin was not empty inside. Besides this, she indicates that people who don«t like animals on the streets should sit in »their concrete prisons.«
«Create <…> a flammable mixture that cannot be extinguished and set fire to all their villages,» concludes Tatyana.
She is supported by another Tatyana with words that she knows a «good recipe,» according to the published screenshot. It was not possible to follow the link to the chat NGS24.RU.
«The boy was buried in a closed coffin, so severely was he mauled by the dogs. But instead of sympathy, the chat participants began to mock the child»s memory and the grief of his parents, saying that such villages, where the parents of potential victims of stray dogs live, should be burned along with their residents! Isn«t that what the fascists did?» wrote the employees of «Argumenty Nedeli» in their appeal to the Investigative Committee.
The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that currently, Krasnoyarsk investigators are conducting a procedural check under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — «Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity.»
On October 25, in the Berezovsky District — near Krasnoyarsk — a 10-year-old child went to a friend«s house through fields, where a pack of dogs attacked him. The animals mauled the boy to death.
After this, investigators detained the head of the organization »My Pes« (My Dog), who was supposedly supposed to capture animals in that area. Deputies of the Legislative Assembly, in turn, returned to the discussion of a bill on dog euthanasia and are ready to consider its adoption in the second reading at the end of November. Simultaneously, the regional government tightened the rules for walking pets.
The case also attracted interest in the State Duma — the chairman of the committee on family protection, Nina Ostanina, first appealed to the governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov, with a request to report on the investigation into the tragedy, and then called for introducing a state of emergency in the region. Mikhail Kotyukov himself did not publicly comment on what happened.
