Novosibirsk forecast: temperature swings 0 to -28 degrees

Meteorologists predict that weather patterns will shift frequently during the first decade of February.
In the Novosibirsk region, during the first decade of February, the average temperature is expected to be -11 to -16 degrees Celsius (approximately 3 to 12°F), which is 1–3 degrees above normal. This was reported to an NGS correspondent by the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service (Zapadno-Sibirskoye UGMS).
«Temperature fluctuations will persist, with nighttime temperatures ranging from -9 to -14 degrees Celsius (7 to 16°F) down to -23 to -28 degrees Celsius (-18 to -9°F), and daytime temperatures from -5 to -12 degrees Celsius (10 to 23°F) to -14 to -19 degrees Celsius (-2 to 7°F). The entire decade will be mostly without precipitation. Only around February 8–9, light snow is expected. There will be waves of cold and warmth. Two or three days of temperature increase, then a drop,» explained Natalya Kichanova, head of the weather forecast department at the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service.
City residents should prepare for a serious thaw. In the period of February 6–7, daytime temperatures may rise to 0 degrees Celsius (32°F) and above.
