Massive traffic jam after accident blocks Chelyabinsk tract
The accident happened under the bridge leading to the village of Patrushi in the Sysertsky district.
The Sverdlovsk Region State Traffic Inspectorate (GIBDD) provided details of the accident on the Chelyabinsk tract, where traffic was paralyzed this morning due to two trucks. The crash occurred at the 186th kilometer of the «Approach to Yekaterinburg» road from the federal highway M-5 «Ural» in the Sysertsky district.
Preliminary information suggests the drivers of two trucks lost control on the snowy road, causing both KamAZ trucks to jackknife on the roadway, which blocked the highway.
The trucks did not collide with each other, and there were no injuries in the accident.
«A temporary detour route through the village of Patrushi was organized to bypass the affected section. Traffic has now been fully restored,» the Sverdlovsk Region State Traffic Inspectorate noted.
Yekaterinburg was also paralyzed by heavy snowfall. For example, on Lenina Avenue, a chain of seven cars came to a standstill.
