The first bus of the Volgabus brand has hit the roads in Yakutsk. It will carry passengers on route No. 7. This was reported on 29 January in the Telegram channel «About Roads and Transport».
By Monday, 2 February, four more new buses will join the line. The others are currently undergoing technical inspection and awaiting the installation of necessary equipment. In total, 50 new buses have been brought to Yakutsk, which will operate on routes No. 5, 12, 7, 14, 17, and 18.
Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev handed over the keys to the carrier—the company «Soyuz Avto»—on 22 January. In total, the capital of the republic will receive 116 new buses, with over 470 million rubles (approximately $4.7 million at current rates) allocated from the federal budget for this purpose. The purchase of equipment will take place until 2028 inclusive under the «Development of Public Transport» project within the national project «Infrastructure for Life».
