Omsk authorities comment on ceiling collapse in emergency house
The house was declared emergency in 2018.
The Omsk city hall commented on the ceiling collapse that occurred yesterday, January 30, in one of the apartments of a two-story house on 6-ya Zapadnaya Street. As reported by the department, specialists arrived at the accident site within an hour and conducted a commission inspection. It was found that the damage was approximately one square meter.
«Within an hour, a team was dispatched to the accident site, and a commission inspection was carried out with the participation of specialists from the district administration, the public safety department, the Kirovsky Administrative Okrug prosecutor»s office, and the management company TKK «Service Plus». Based on the inspection results, damage to the ceiling in the living room of apartment No. 8 was established, with an area of approximately 1 sq. m. Currently, the management company is carrying out work to clear the ceiling and repair the damaged section.«
The apartment owner was offered to move to safe housing from the flexible stock, but she refused.
Recall that the house was built in 1962, it consists of eight apartments where 12 people live. In 2018, the two-story building was declared emergency and subject to demolition. The residents were supposed to be relocated in 2021.
