Wig Video Fame Earns Yekaterinburg Man Versace Bag from Kirkorov
24-year-old Max Nikolayev from Yekaterinburg, known by the nickname Nik Master, became famous online thanks to his humorous videos in a bright yellow wig. He films funny sketches about various life situations and parodies girls. Now, more than half a million people are subscribed to his blog.

Max was born in 2001 in Yekaterinburg. His parents divorced when he was 4 years old. After the family split up, his father stayed in the Urals, and his mother moved to St. Petersburg:
«My parents remained on good terms. I lived with my mother and saw my father several times a month. Mom worked in one of the first »Golden Apple« stores in the »Hermes Plaza« shopping center. Back then, only Ural residents knew about this store. It was considered a premium shop, so I always proudly said where my mother worked. Dad was a manager at some enterprise that makes bags for all the stores in Yekaterinburg,» recalls Maxim.
The family lived at the corner of Komsomolskaya and Malysheva streets, and the boy studied at school No. 36.
«I absolutely love Yekaterinburg and happily tell everyone that I»m from there. I come back regularly a couple of times a year to see my dad, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, and sisters. I especially love visiting in summer, always staying in the «Everest» residential complex and going for evening walks along the Dam. This is my favorite area in Yekaterinburg. I also miss Pizza Mia, oh my, «Friday» and «Derevenskaya»—that«s love,» Max Nikolayev shared with E1.RU.
Max started recording his first videos on his aunt«s camera when he was 7 years old: »I didn«t even know what the internet was back then. I just made up pranks and scenes, filmed them, and then ran to show them to my mom and aunt.»
The guy«s relatives never forbade him from filming jokes on camera and didn»t consider it a silly activity. And at the end of 9th grade, when the family moved to Crimea, Max got into music, wrote songs, which he later sold to Nikolai Baskov himself. At that time, he was even able to financially help his mother. He didn«t continue his studies but fully immersed himself in creativity.
«At school, I wasn»t accepted not just by the class, but even by the teachers and the head teacher. They showed this through their behavior and attitude towards me and my mother. During that period, there was a difficult financial situation, and we stayed in a room at my mother«s sister»s place. That«s when I realized I had to act, and I started writing to all the stars and bloggers: »Hi, I«m 15 years old, I dream of becoming famous, I write songs, I make videos,»« the Yekaterinburg native said.
In 2019, the family moved to St. Petersburg. After some time, Max Nikolayev«s blog began to grow actively thanks to humorous videos in a wig, which was spontaneously bought at Auchan.
At the start of his career, the blogger was helped by the controversial rapper Instasamka—she constantly supported him with likes. However, the Ural native no longer communicates with the star.
«I was often invited to Moscow for events, plus all my colleagues and friends were in the capital. In May 2021, I realized that the moment had come to move. It wasn»t difficult, as I was already earning from my blog and had a decent sum to calmly rent a studio near the center and start settling in,« Max explained.
After moving, the Yekaterinburg native met pop king Philip Kirkorov. The star invited Max over to film a video for a new hit: «We managed to have a heart-to-heart talk. At that time, Philip had a Versace bag around his neck, it was a headphone case. I liked it so much that I, without thinking, said: »What a beautiful bag.« I was one of the first to film with him, and my manager and I went to another event.»
We«re in a taxi, and my acquaintance, who stayed at Philip»s house, calls me. I answer the phone, and it«s Philip saying: »Where did you go? I have a gift for you here.« At that same second, the taxi driver turns around, and we go back. And at home, he gave me that Versace bag, it was very nice.
Bloggers often get into unpleasant situations, and Max is no exception. In 2023, subscribers accused him of fraud after he published an advertisement for a tech store. Some transferred large sums for brand new iPhones but never saw the goods. The sales were handled by a friend of Max«s who disappeared after receiving the funds. The situation was resolved after the blogger returned more than 2 million rubles (approximately $20,000 at current rates) to subscribers out of his own pocket.
Today, being a blogger, Max admitted, is quite challenging. However, he has a whole army of fans who continue to support him.
«I»m recognized on the street every day. I always smile, say hello, take photos. Life has blessed me with a wonderful audience; I«ve practically never had any hate,» he said.
