Details have emerged about the disappearance of the cat Vasily from the Nekrasov Museum near Yaroslavl. As found by the editorial staff of 76.RU, the disappearance of the fluffy one was noticed in Karabikha on November 1, 2025.

Museum staff said that Vasily had never run away for long before. He lived on the estate for about three to four years and freely roamed the museum grounds. When it became clear that the cat had no owner, the staff allocated him a place in the Green House and began caring for him.

“We started feeding him, and he stayed on our estate. At first, he was a stray cat, not very well-groomed, but after sterilization, he stopped fighting, became smooth, beautiful, and well-groomed,” 76.RU was told at the museum.

After some time, a red cat named Vasilisa appeared at the museum. Vasily took her under his wing, and they immediately became inseparable.

“They were very close friends, although neither has offspring. We sterilized them. Vasily and Vasilisa always went together, and now the cat is grieving without her friend,” the staff shared.

According to museum workers, Vasily was a very sociable cat.

“He loved to eat and socialize very much. He meowed, talked with us, was very friendly. We hope he is found and returns home.”

Vasily the cat was beloved by everyone at the museum, from workers to guests.

The cat also had “his own feeders” — a husband and wife from the city who came every day, brought wet food, and walked with him around the estate. Now they are also searching for Vasily, but so far without success.
