Senior saleswoman raps to nationwide fame in Russia

Meet Lyudmila Krasnoperova, a 67-year-old woman many call the rap mom of Yekaterinburg. The vendor from Novomoskovsky Market has long been famous for her online videos, posting dozens each day set to modern tracks.

Lyudmila stands out not only for her musical taste but also for her flashy outfits adorned with numerous gold necklaces and bracelets. Her blog has already amassed 65,000 subscribers from around the globe. Watch how this saleswoman became a social media star in the E1.RU video above.

Lyudmila developed a love for rap when her son was 15 years old.

«He was growing up like a normal boy. At first, he liked Natasha Korolyova, then Modern Talking, and right after that — hardcore rap. But you can»t listen to it just anywhere: not at work, not at home. So when he turned eighteen, I bought him a car so he could listen in it. A very stylish one, with tinted windows and a powerful sound system. If he liked it, then I liked it too, because he«s my son,» the saleswoman explains.

Lyudmila first appeared on social media in 2008. Initially, she just shared photos, but later began making videos.

Lyudmila admits that she knows all Russian and foreign rap by heart, but she doesn«t favor every artist. For instance, she»s indifferent to Vitya AK, but sometimes listens because he«s popular with the crowd.

Some of Lyudmila«s videos rack up millions of views. Occasionally, foreign audiences comment, but the vendor ignores the hate and »advice«.

»They«re always writing about Trump and the actor from »The Silence of the Lambs«. I don»t block anyone; let them live and stew in their own juice. I«m a border guard»s wife, and they write to me: «Trump», but he«s nowhere near. They also like to criticize working hands, but with these hands I»ve already moved mountains,« the Yekaterinburg native shares.
