Attempt to Take Loan on Missing SVO Soldier Labeled Deserter

The wife of a soldier in the special military operation (SVO), Dmitry Sh., told VLADIVOSTOK1.RU that someone attempted to take out a microloan using her missing husband, who was declared a deserter, and also converted bonuses to rubles and made payments with his card.
«I requested a bank statement for transactions on the salary card. I have a power of attorney for this. It turned out that on 24 October, when my husband had already been out of contact for two weeks, there was an attempt to take out a loan of more than 1 million rubles (>$10,000). Then there was a second attempt on 6 November to take out a microloan of 50,000 rubles ($500). Both times the bank refused. Then another oddity: through online banking, someone converted points into money, and then on 17 November bought something with them in a store. If these are some other people, then they, it seems, found out the password and have my husband«s phone and cards in their hands», — shared Natalya P.
The woman went to the police with this information, and the statement was accepted. She does not believe that her husband deserted, as reported by his military unit. Dmitry consciously went to the SVO, served for three years, received an award and was wounded, but remained in service. They got married when he had served for one year, and he did not plan to return home.
The man disappeared on 10 October 2025 while in the combat zone. Natalya started to worry, waited a few days, and tried to find out where he had gone. A week later, he was added to the list of soldiers who left their unit or place of service without permission. According to Natalya, his parents informed her of her husband»s desertion. The woman is convinced that her husband could not have fled.
In November, he had an official leave, and they were supposed to celebrate birthdays in Vladivostok. He had no reason to leave the training ground. «Why would he run from the training ground? If he had such thoughts, it would have been easier for him to come on leave and hide here, at home. I don«t believe it. He was searched for here, but wasn»t found anywhere. How can one believe that a military child, who never evaded service, served in the SVO for three years and has a positive characteristic, suddenly decided to run away?» — shared Natalya in a conversation with VLADIVOSTOK1.RU.
She claims that the unit command ignores her appeals. All inquiries remain unanswered or are accompanied by formal dismissals. For a month, Natalya has not been able to sleep or eat peacefully, has lost significant weight due to stress. Numerous appeals to various authorities have yielded no results.
For her, it is important to find out where her husband is. She is prepared for any outcome, but does not want to remain in the dark and allow his name to be tarnished. Due to being listed as missing, the family, including a small child, is deprived of financial support and payments.
At the time of publication, it was not possible to determine at what stage the investigation into the desertion is.
