Personnel changes at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant (SNSP) in St. Petersburg are scheduled for February. The current general director Vladimir Seredokho, whose contract ends on February 6, has already received notice of replacement.
The new head of the enterprise will be Sergey Karachkov, currently heading the Astrakhan-based Southern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (SCSS). Karachkov has been managing SCSS since March 2024 and will move to St. Petersburg with a team of his deputies.
Vladimir Seredokho has held the position of general director at SNSP since November 2008, making him one of the longest-serving managers in the industry.
The contract with Seredokho is not being renewed for two main reasons:
- In March, he will turn 67, the retirement age.
- USC is implementing a policy to renew management appointed under the previous head of the corporation, Alexey Rakhmanov.
At the end of 2025, Sergey Makeev, a close associate of Seredokho, was removed from the position of first deputy general director at SNSP.
SNSP specializes in building mine-countermeasure ships. Under Seredokho«s leadership, the plant mastered the production of composite-hulled minesweepers under Project 12700 »Alexandrit«. Since 2011, the Navy has received 9 out of 15 ordered ships of this series. The enterprise also produces passenger catamarans under Projects 04580 and 04710. Current financial results of the plant are not published.
