The OBI chain will no longer be represented in Yekaterinburg under its previous brand. The hypermarkets located in the Mega shopping complex and near Karnaval have already changed their name to «Dom Lenta».
Representatives of the retail chain confirmed that the stores will continue to operate as usual. The full transition to the new brand is planned for 2026.
Information about the upcoming sign change appeared on January 12. The company«s website posted an announcement: »We are updating. OBI will soon become «DOM Lenta».«
The rebranding was expected. In spring 2025, plans became known for the chain to come under the control of structures of Alexey Mordashov«s Severgroup with subsequent integration into the Lenta network. In June 2025, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) approved the acquisition of OBI by the company Hermes, founded in March of the same year. Its sole owner and director is Vladimir Zakhvatoshin.
This is not the first case of rebranding a large construction retailer in Russia. Previously, after the previous owners left the Russian market, the process of renaming Leroy Merlin hypermarkets began. The first of them changed its name in Mytishchi near Moscow.
