Two Burger Records outlets in Novosibirsk have been put up for sale. The listing appeared on the Russian classifieds site Avito in mid-January. These are not the only eateries that have been put up for sale in the city.

The ad was posted on January 12. For sale are the burger joint in the courtyard on Kommunisticheskaya Street and a spot at the Gastrocourt food hall without its own dining area. They can be purchased separately (for 2.2 million rubles, about $24,400, and 900,000 rubles, about $10,000) or together for 2.9 million rubles (about $32,200).

The first Burger Records outlet on Kommunisticheskaya Street opened in 2016, drawing attention with its unusual recipes and burger names honoring famous musicians, actors, and songs (Beyoncé, Kanye West, King Crimson, and others). In 2022, a second outlet opened on the second floor of Gastrocourt, but it did not last long. Then, after closing that spot, the owners moved it to a new location — one of the main halls on the first floor.

This is far from the only eatery put up for sale recently. For example, the Fresh by Panakota confectionery in the Panorama residential complex on Nemirovich-Danchenko Street is offered for 1.2 million rubles (about $13,300). A cafe at Dachnaya Street, 38, building 1, is being sold for 1.7 million rubles (about $18,900). Judging by the address and photos, this is the cafe Dachnye Sezony.

A Georgian cuisine restaurant focusing on khinkali, khachapuri, and signature drinks is being sold for 12 million rubles (about $133,300). According to the address in the ad, only one Georgian restaurant, Ptichka by Novikov, operates there, but the address may not match the actual location of the establishment.

Not all establishment owners are waiting for a sale. Already in the first 12 days of the year, six cafes, bars, and food court outlets ceased operations. Also closed were the pan-Asian cafe Three Wise Monkeys in Akademgorodok (a district of Novosibirsk) and Siberian Story in the Eden shopping mall. But the most notable closure this month can be considered the exit of two restaurants belonging to the Moscow-based corporation Rosinter.
