«It»s the second day Telegram hasn«t been working over mobile internet,» writes a user named Konstantin.

«The app won»t open. Media won«t load. Endless connecting,» other subscribers report on the Downdetector outage service.

Complaints about Telegram«s operation mainly come from residents of St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Krai, and Murmansk Region.

Many have encountered problems with sending and receiving messages in the messenger. People have also faced slow service.

The exact timeline for fixing the issues and restoring Telegram«s full operation is currently unknown. Users can only hope for a swift resolution to the situation.

Earlier, the State Duma explained that it does not intend to block the work of popular foreign messengers in Russia simply «out of spite». As noted by Sergei Boyarsky, head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, the services must comply with Russian legislation.

He also stressed that Telegram itself is not currently planned to be fully shut down in Russia, as it is a «major social network» used by many Russians and government representatives.

«Huge efforts by our citizens and media are invested in it; they run their channels there. We»ll see how they migrate to MAX. I«ve set up my own there. But I also have a channel left on Telegram,» Boyarsky noted.

Since last summer, video and voice calls have not been working in the messenger. Roskomnadzor noted that new restrictions in Telegram are not currently being introduced.

We have also gathered information on which free services are currently available for calls.
