Will Heating Bills Soar in Krasnoyarsk After Frosts? SGC Responds

In Krasnoyarsk, severe frosts have persisted for a week, and residents are calculating how much this will cost them in heating bills.

As commented to NGS24.RU by SGC (Sibirskaya Generiruyushchaya Kompaniya, or Siberian Generating Company), it is still too early to say how much these cold temperatures will cost Krasnoyarsk residents.

«In Krasnoyarsk, a pay-as-you-go system for heating is in place. That is, you pay for the thermal energy you actually consume. So, whatever the meter shows is what will be billed. Comparing with previous periods isn»t possible: for that, temperatures would need to be the same throughout the period, and the price for heat would have to be identical,« explained SGC.

This is agreed upon by the public organization «People»s Control in Housing and Utilities.« They say that only homes with energy-efficient heating systems will benefit in terms of payment. Others will have to accept the bills that come.

Earlier we reported that Krasnoyarsk residents had complained about their SGC bills back in October 2025.

«Heating was only turned on today (September 30 — Ed.), but SGC has already charged utility payments for heating,» wrote a reader of NGS24.RU.

SGC itself then explained what to do in such cases.

Recently, it became known that garbage collection fees in Krasnoyarsk will almost double over a year. The relevant orders have been published on the portal of the regional government. Tariffs for solid household waste, handled by «RostTech» in the city, are being raised twice: first — already from January this year, and second — from October 1.
