Wet Snow and Black Ice Expected in Murmansk Region

The Murmansk region will experience wet snow and black ice on 20 January. The local weather service issued a warning for slippery conditions.

Today, 20 January, the Kola Peninsula will be under the influence of the northeastern periphery of an anticyclone located over central Europe. This was reported by the Murmansk Administration for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Murmansk UGMS).

Cloudy weather with clear spells is expected in the Arctic region. Light, and in places moderate, snow and wet snow. The wind will be north-westerly and westerly, moderate. Air temperature from +2 to -3 °C (36 to 27 °F), dropping to -5… -10 °C (23 to 14 °F) during clear spells. Black ice is expected.
