The freezing rain that hit Voronezh on January 28 turned the city into a giant ice rink. Residents are complaining about it to the Voronezh1.ru editorial office.

According to a resident of Cosmonauts Street, her trip to the nearest store today took 10 minutes instead of the usual two.

«There were already ruts through all the courtyards from the last ice, and now everything is covered with a fresh, slippery layer of ice,» the woman says. «The situation on the sidewalks is no better. By evening, there isn«t a grain of sand on them.»

Some subscribers of our Telegram channel joke that they are getting home today «with God»s help.« Others note that help can also come from ice cleats.

Pedestrians aren«t the only ones suffering from the weather and the slow response of utility services. In the evening, Voronezh was gripped by 7-point traffic jams due to numerous traffic accidents.

On January 29, Voronezh is again expecting above-zero temperatures with wet snow and rain, after which frosts will return to the city. So the ice is likely to linger for a couple more days.
