Tyumen Warned of Approaching Snowstorm, What Weather to Expect

The article details the forecast for heavy snow and warnings for drivers in the Tyumen region.
A heavy snowstorm is approaching the Tyumen region. According to weather forecasters, the heaviest precipitation is expected in the Uvat district, while the rest of the region will be calmer, but strong gusts of wind and blizzards are possible in some areas.

The weather service warns of strong winds and blizzard conditions affecting parts of the region.
Due to the worsening weather, road services are putting their units on high alert along the highway to the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO). As reported by the Federal State Institution Uralupravtodor (the Ural Highway Directorate), 250 units of special equipment will be used to clear roads of snow. Despite this, road workers are asking drivers to be extremely careful and, if possible, to avoid long-distance trips.
If you find yourself in an emergency on the highway (breakdown, skid, accident) and need help, call the 24-hour dispatcher service of Uralupravtodor: 8-800-200-63-06.
According to the Ob-Irtysh Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (UGMS), snowfalls will cover most of the Tyumen region in the coming days. The most difficult conditions will be in the northeast of the region, where precipitation will be especially heavy, with an additional cold snap expected down to -31°C (-24°F).
According to the forecast by Ilya Vinshtein, severe frosts are not expected in Tyumen itself; the city will experience the peak of a thaw from January 29 to 31, but it will be snowy. A brief cold spell is possible in early February, but it will not compare to the traditional Epiphany frosts (a period of extreme cold in January in Russia).
