Meteorologists and regional Emergencies Ministry (MChS) employees are asking residents of Samara and the region to be more careful on the roads on Thursday, 29 January.

«We received a consultation from the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Privolzhskoye Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Privolzhskoye UGMS)»: «A yellow danger level has been announced. On 29 January 2026, in some parts of Samara Region, a strengthening of the southern wind is expected, with gusts of 15–18 meters per second»», — the Main Directorate of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia for Samara Region warned.

Here are simple safety rules to follow in strong winds:

  • do not take shelter and do not park vehicles under trees and unstable structures;

  • check the draft in smoke and ventilation channels when using gas;

  • be attentive and careful on the roads; avoid sudden maneuvers: overtaking, lane changes, getting ahead; do not rely on the car in front;

  • observe traffic rules, distance, and speed limits.

According to forecasts by the Privolzhskoye UGMS, on Thursday, 29 January, it will be cloudy in Samara, no significant precipitation is expected. The air temperature will be -4…-6 °C (25…21°F).

On Friday, 30 January, light to moderate snow, cloudiness, and a southern wind are promised in Samara and the region. It will warm up to -1…-6 °C (30…21°F).
